In this study, we adopted metatranscriptomic assessment combined with detailed physiological characterization to reveal metabolic activities and physiological processes in resting cysts during their dormancy in natural sediment scenario. We constructed DinoSL-selected cDNA libraries (e-cDNAs) from 3 marine sediment assemblages and sequenced using the PacBio Isoform Sequencing (Iso-Seq) in order to explore the overall patterns of gene expression and identify genes pertinent to the molecular and biochemical processes.
