Agarwood, from Aquilaria sinensis trees, is a valuable compound made of secondary metabolites like chromones and sesquiterpenes, formed in response to tree injury. It's a treasured medicinal and aromatic resource, especially in China. Due to its high market demand and cost, there's a need for a reliable agarwood production technique. This study applies a patented bark-stripping method to analyze the formation process and gene expression in the regenerated cork layer of Aquilaria sinensis, aiming to improve agarwood industry practices.
