Soundscape Experience Mapping Pilot Data

This dataset contains materials from a pilot study exploring sound, memory, and well-being, with a particular focus on older adults. The study employed multiple data collection methods including cultural probes, Ecological Momentary Assessment (ESM), and Day Reconstruction Method (DRM) style reporting. The protocol used to gather the data is described here: https://zenodo.org/records/14946672 The dataset includes: Audio-visual data from ESM tasks (AVData.zip) Survey responses in both English and Dutch-Belgian (NL-BE) formats, including pre/post assessments Task completion data from various activities including: Soundscape assessments Object association exercises Memory recall activities Sound journaling tasks Workshop materials and documentation, including facilitator notes and participant feedback The research aimed to inform the design of soundscape control and reminiscence technologies to improve well-being and support engagement with sonic memories. All data collection tools were deployed through the Ethica EMA smartphone app (later renamed to "Avicenna Research"). Data collection followed a systematic naming convention where files are categorised by type (e.g., MATERIAL, SURVEY, TASK, WORKSHOP) with language indicators (EN, NL-BE) and appropriate file extensions, naming convention described here: https://zenodo.org/records/14946672 (DocumentMap.md).
