RUME 2010 survey data

These data come from the RUME (RUral Microfinance and Employment) survey carried out in 2010 among 405 households in 10 villages in the districts of Cuddalore and Viluppuram, in the rural region of Tamil Nadu (South India). This is the first wave of a multi-thematic household survey (employment, financial practices, agriculture, education, migration). The next waves are called NEEMSIS. Two documentation files in PDF format are provided: (1) "ODRIIS_RUME_manual", the survey manual explaining survey methodology, file descriptions and the content of files and variables; (2) "ODRIIS_RUME_HHquest", the household questionnaire. Four Stata files (.dta) are provided: RUME-HH; RUME-loans_mainloans; RUME-occupations; RUME-migrations. To ensure anonymity, names and addresses have been removed. The name of the village has also been scrambled.
