Global database of leaf nitrogen fractions

To explore the functional allocation strategies of leaf nitrogen (N) across plant species, we compiled a global database from peer‑reviewed literature retrieved via Web of Science and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). The database comprises observations on leaf N allocation among multiple functions for 520 seed plant species across 98 families, including the fractions of leaf N allocated to Rubisco (PR), bioenergetics (PB), light absorption (PL), and cell wall structure (PCW).
