The Kalochori Accelerometric Network (KAN), database and Web-GIS portal

The Kalochori Accelerometric Network (KAN) operates since 2013 in the broader urban area of Kalochori, west of Thessaloniki in Northern Greece. KAN is composed of seven accelerometric stations within a limited monitoring area, referring to three ground stations installed in distinct urban zones (residential, industrial and tanks zone), three stations on top of a selected structure within each urban zone and one free-field station on ground surface away from the built environment. All the accelerometric stations are documented with installation and operating features, main structural properties of the instrumented structures, geotechnical data and a EC8-based characterization of soil. The data linked to this DOI refer to seventy eight (78) earthquakes that have been recorded by KAN during the period of 01/16/2014 to 12/31/2016. The complete datasets including stations monographs, processed acceleration recordings and metadata of the recorded earthquakes are available online through the Web-GIS platform http://apollo.itsak.gr/apollo-portal/ApolloPro.aspx for future updates. The above online platform is maintained and updated as part of the recently-completed project INDES-MUSA (http://www.indes-musa.gr/en/). <br>
