Myxococcus xanthus DK1622 is a model myxobacteria with a huge chromosome, which contained lots of biosynthetic gene clusters of secondary metabolites and also used as heterologous expression host. To construct a chassis, we developed a genetic operation tool by investigating chloramphenicol resistance and identifying the chloramphenicol resistant genes to construct a strain which can be operated by chloramphenicol selection.
