资源简介:
Imbalanced soil elemental cycles under climate change affects microbial composition and ecosystem functions such as suppliesof nutrients and energy. We largely unknown the adaptive strategiesof soil microorganisms under such circumstances. Here we investigate the relationships between contents of soil carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus with the microbiome from 200 terrestrial ecosystems at a global scale. Relatively soil P deficiency was aggravated in wetter regionswith higher productivity, which inhibits microbial anabolic processes involved in growth and reproduce. To survive, soil microbiome enhances their catabolism to acquire energy from degradation of recalcitrant carbon, and subsequently invests for ecoenzyme syntheses in acquiring N and P. Our findings unravel microbial metabolism strategies and the environmental impacts in response to soil elemental imbalances.
