A consistent VIIRS-like time-series nighttime light (CVTNL) dataset for Mainland China (1992-2025)

This dataset provides a consistent long-term VIIRS-like nighttime light (NTL) time series for Mainland China , covering the period from 1992 to 2025 at a spatial resolution of 450 m. It was generated using an Extra Trees regression model with adaptive training sample selection based on the coefficient of variation (CV), combined with a pixel-wise cross-sensor consistency correction. The dataset consists of annual NTL composites in GeoTIFF format, with VIIRS-like file named YYYY_CNCVTNL.tif (where YYYY represents the year from 1992 to 2013) and VIIRS file named YYY_CNVIIRS.tif (where YYYY represents the year from 2012 to 2025). The data are projected in WGS84 coordinate system with a spatial resolution of 15 arc-seconds (approximately 450 m).
