Food control meat samples from operation OPSON X in Germany were analysed using a published 16S rDNA metabarcoding method. The aim was to obtain additional data on the test samples with respect to the authenticity of the declared species and to validate the published method by comparing the results with those obtained using standard analytical methods. The metabarcoding data were evaluated using three different bioinformatic pipelines.
