NIGMS Human Genetic Cell Repository is a human genetic resource database sponsored and established by the U.S. National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), founded in 1972. This repository contains over 11,900 cell lines (primarily fibroblasts and transformed lymphocytes), more than 6,200 DNA samples, and over 180 induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines. These samples represent a variety of disease states, chromosomal abnormalities, healthy individuals, and diverse human populations, and have been cited in more than 8,100 scientific publications, providing cell and genetic research resources for scientists worldwide.
