Several Trichoderma species (Ascomycota) possess degradative enzymes with potential for cleanup of the polluted sites (mycoremediation). Trichoderma lixii MUT 3171, deposited at the Mycotheca Universitatis Taurinensis (MUT, www.mut.unito.it) of the Department of Life Sciences and Systems Biology, University of Turin, Turin (Italy), was isolated from soil contaminated with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).Here, we report the draft genome sequence of T. lixii MUT 3171 obtained with high-throughput sequencing method. The genome of T. lixii MUT 3171 can shed light on biotransformation of PAHs in contaminated sites. Moreover, the genes potentially involved in the production of important secondary metabolites of T. lixii MUT 3171 have been investigated. Overall, the genome sequence of T. lixii MUT 3171 can give insights into safe biotechnological application.The costs for the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) were supported by INAIL-DIT (PAR 2016-2018).
