Watermelon 'Arka Manik' Seed Embryo Endophytic Bacterial Diversity Analysis in whole embryos and in different embryo parts

This study was aimed at assessing the endophytic bacterial diversity associated with the seed embryos using whole embryos versus the basal and cotyledon parts of the embryos adopting 16S rRNA taxonomic profiling. The DNA extracted from the tissue-homogenate from different samples was taken through 16S rRNA V3-V4 region amplicon profiling. The findings indicated embryo colonization by diverse bacteria in a cultivation recalcitrant form and variation in the taxonomic profiles in different parts of the embryo.
