Genome-wide transcriptional response to nitrogen deficiency stress in a hybrid poplar Populus alba x P. tremula var. glandulosa

The experiment includes five treatments and a control group. The plants used were 20-day-old plantlets cultured in MS rooting medium. Tissue culture plantlets of 84K were grown in the nitrogen-limited medium for 2 days, 4 days, 6 days, 8 days, 10 days, respectively. Plants grown in MS medium were used as control. For each time point, three biological replicates were generated and each replicate was mixed from five individuals. The cultivation environment was a controlled indoor greenhouse, the light conditions were 16h light/8h darkness.
