Dataset and reproducible analysis for "Complementary Haney Soil Health Tool outputs reveal selective responses to organic amendments in apple orchard soils"

This repository contains the dataset and reproducible R workflow associated with a four-year field experiment evaluating complementary outputs of the Haney Soil Health Tool (HSHT) in two commercial apple orchards under organic and conventional management in northern Italy. Three organic amendments (digestate, green compost, and mushroom compost) were evaluated against orchard-specific controls in randomized complete block designs with four independent replicates per treatment. The two orchards represent distinct experimental contexts and were analyzed independently; they should not be treated as replicated levels of orchard management. The repository includes the plot-level dataset, a data dictionary, R scripts for data validation and processing, statistical analysis, and figure generation, machine-readable statistical outputs, final figures, and information on the R computational environment. The workflow independently recalculates and validates derived HSHT variables before reproducing the statistical analyses and figures associated with the manuscript. The research data, documentation, statistical outputs, and figures are licensed under CC BY 4.0. The R source code is released under the MIT License.
