Daily options turnover value in the U.S. 2021-2024, by exchange

Between January 2021 and May 2024, the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) was consistently the largest market for options traded in the United States, accounting for almost 50 percent of the average daily exchange traded options during May 2024. They were followed by the Nasdaq with a market share of just over 22 percent, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) with around 14 percent, then the Miami International Securities Exchange (MIAX) with 7.5 percent. In total, the average daily turnover of exchange traded options in May 2024 was approximately 21 billion U.S. dollars.
