The tall grass across from the flag pole serves as the origin for this data set. We then walk up and down the path horizontal to the origin which is our x-axis and into the grass-lot vertical to the origin which is our y-axis. We do this while we pick a random set of coordinates between (0,0) steps and (75,75) steps and set our quadrate. We then name the plant species in the point based on flower (if any) color, petal number, shape and size, leaf color, number, shape and size and stem color, circumference and height. Next divide the quadrat into 4 parts and find the number of individual species by tallying up the estimated number of stems each species has in the 4 given squares. Once done use the 4 square method to estimate the total percent of coverage each species has in the given quadrat. Be sure to look at the quadrat from multiple angles in order to get a more precise estimate. Lastly determine if a species is a grass or not based on whether or not it is flat and skinny and has no bristles. Once done, rinse and repeat until you have about 12 quadrates in total.<br>
