Lolium multiflorum Genome sequencing

This project aims to characterize the genetic diversity of Lolium multiflorum populations used in Peruvian Andean livestock systems for forage production. Using Genotyping-by-Sequencing (GBS) on the Illumina platform, single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) will be identified to provide insights into population structure and variation. The resulting data will support forage breeding programs, contribute to sustainable livestock production, and serve as a resource for future genomic studies of this species in the Peruvian Andes.
