Survey dataset: Access barriers and unmet needs in oncology nutritional care in Romania

This dataset contains anonymized responses from a cross-sectional online survey of 418 oncology patients in Romania, conducted in 2025. The dataset includes 24 variables covering sociodemographic characteristics (age group, sex, residential environment), clinical information (cancer type, year of diagnosis, disease stage, treatment institution type, therapy received), nutritional status indicators (weight changes during treatment, difficulty consuming food, side effects experienced), access to nutritional support (whether patients received nutritional information at diagnosis, consulted a dietitian, had access to in-hospital nutritional consultation, or benefited from specific nutritional support methods), patient perceptions and dietary behaviors (perceived importance and usefulness of nutritional intervention, adoption of specific diets, foods avoided and included, continuation of nutritional recommendations post-treatment), and self-reported unmet needs and recommendations regarding nutritional support. All variable labels and response options are in Romanian.
