Overview
This dataset provides laboratory calibration results for tipping-bucket rain gauges (TBRGs) obtained under controlled conditions using two methods: (i) an automated calibration system (PRC-20AP) and (ii) a conventional manual burette-based method.
Experiments were conducted at five rainfall intensity levels (10, 20, 30, 50, and 100 mm/h) with a fixed target total rainfall of 20 mm, including 15 repeated trials for each condition.
The dataset is organized as an integrated Excel file containing raw data, summary statistics, and automated analysis worksheets. Users can directly evaluate calibration performance by selecting rainfall intensity levels, with key metrics including total rainfall, rainfall intensity, relative error, repeatability, and uncertainty.
Uncertainty estimation follows the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM), including the separation of Type A and Type B components and the calculation of combined and expanded uncertainty.
This dataset is intended to support calibration method comparison and to serve as a benchmark reference for tipping-bucket rain gauge calibration.
