Nalga de Maco Data Set

This dataset contains primary survey data collected for a contingent valuation (CV) study designed to elicit preferences and willingness to pay for upstream conservation in a transboundary watershed system located in the island of Hispaniola. The valuation framework captures downstream beneficiaries’ perceptions of ecosystem services and their support for conservation interventions aimed at maintaining hydrological and ecological functions across national boundaries. The dataset underpins the analysis presented in the paper “Upstream Conservation in a Transboundary Basin: Preferences and Downstream Benefits in a Hispaniola Watershed”, and includes information on stated preferences, socioeconomic characteristics, and attitudinal variables relevant to environmental valuation and policy design.
