The following information about the CD-ROM was abstracted from the
Bureau of Transportation Statistics Product catalog:
The Nationwide Personal Transportation Survey (NPTS) CD-ROM contains
data on personal travel by all modes of transportation in the United
States, as related to demographics of persons and households. NPTS
data for 1977, 1983, and 1990, collected by the U.S. Department of
Transportation's Federal Highway Administration, are included on this
CD-ROM. Topics such as household vehicle availability and use, annual
miles per licensed driver, household travel rates, vehicle occupancy,
and home-to-work trips are included.
