Continuous Global Mangrove Dynamics: Annual mangrove extent, 1984-2023

This dataset provides annual global mangrove extent maps from 1984 to 2023 at 30 m spatial resolution, derived from the Landsat archive. The data are distributed in ESRI Shapefile format, using the Behrmann equal-area projection and the WGS 1984 geographic coordinate system. The attribute field gridcode indicates data availability: a value of 1 represents pixels derived from valid Landsat observations, whereas a value of 2 represents pixels gap-filled using the closest previous valid observation. The easiest way to access and use the data is through Google Earth Engine, where the datasets are available in the Earth Engine Data Catalog: https://developers.google.com/earth-engine/datasets/publisher/mangrovedatahub2.
