Global dataset of nitrous oxide emission pulses in the early plant growing season

This dataset compiles published field observations of nitrous oxide (N₂O) emission pulses during the early plant growing season across global terrestrial ecosystems. Data were extracted from peer-reviewed studies following a systematic literature screening procedure and include measurements of N₂O emission rates, microbial biomass nitrogen, and associated soil, climate, and ecosystem characteristics. The dataset was harmonized through standardized unit conversion, quality control, and consistency checks to enable cross-study comparison. It supports analyses of the magnitude, variability, and drivers of early-season N₂O emission pulses.
