The notebooks of Judge Smith contain notes covering cases of the District Court in the civil, criminal and 'special' jurisdictions. Testimony before the Police Review Tribunal, and Appeals were also heard. Judge Smith sat throughout New South Wales, including: Albury, Bega, Broken Hill, Cootamundra, Darlinghurst, Deniliquin, Dubbo, East Maitland, Forbes, Gosford, Grafton, Griffith, (Hospital Road), (King Street), Lismore, Liverpool, Newcastle, Nowra, Parkes, Penrith, Queanbeyan, (Queen's Square), Quirindi, Singleton, Sydney, Taree, Wagga Wagga, Wentworth and Wollongong. The notebooks are arranged chronologically by date of trial. Jurisdictions and places are interspersed throughout the volumes.
