Characterization of Ichang papedas (Citrus ichangensis) grown in China and its relatives grown in Bhutan using high-throughput sequencing

The Ichang papeda (Citrus ichangensis) is a monoembryonic Citrus species, and is possibly used as a parent to citrus hybrids. Although the Ichang papeda is native to China, several studies reported that the Ichang papeda or its relative is also native to India. In a current study, we found plants which are morphologically similar to Ichang papeda in Bhutan, an adjacent area of India. We genetically characterized two accessions of Ichang papedas grown in China and two accessions of Ichang papeda relatives grown in Bhutan by restriction site-associated DNA sequencing.
