资源简介:
This study investigates how online EFL instructors perceive learner-instructor interaction in virtual classes, specifically focusing on communication, support, and presence. The study used a mixed-methods design with questionnaires and interviews, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data through thematic analysis and descriptive statistics. The findings suggest that instructors place a high value on effective communication, instructor responsiveness, and supportiveness in the online learning environment. The study also explores the use of AI assessment tools to enhance student engagement and reduce self-consciousness, though concerns were raised about the absence of non-verbal cues during AI assessments and their potential impact on learners' comprehension. Future research could address the study's limitations by involving a larger and more diverse participant sample, longitudinal studies, and examining how AI assessment tools evolve and impact different aspects of online EFL instruction.
