# Data Product Background

PDI’s C-store transactions data feed provides unique insights into an opaque market. This data feed includes consumer merchandise and fuel transactions across tens of thousands of independent convenience stores within North America that are typically not available through other sources. The data is sourced directly from the site point of sale system and is cleaned and curated of operational noise typically seen from small operators. This curated data set provides an accurate view of store sales in this elusive, yet important, segment of convenience stores in the US.

- Shopper ID: loyalty ID or hashed payment ID

**Granularity and Customization**

Data is available at the most granular level showing each merchandise transaction across these independent convenience & independent retail operators. Most of the data consists of C-store transactions data, but additional non-fuel selling stores are included as well; these can be filtered out upon request. Data can also be summarized across merchandise category, time and geographic dimensions. Additionally, data can be enriched with loyalty programs, receipts data and First Party consumer information to create a more comprehensive picture.
