Compliments and Donations

This data set was collected as part of an experiment with two phases at a village supermarket in Germany. Each line represents one customer. In the first phase (IsIntervention="no"), we observe for five days (day=1,..,5) at two different checkout lines for two clerks (clerk=1 and clerk=2), whether or not customers donate to a good cause (donation=1) or not (donation=0). For each day and clerk, we also observe the donated amount (daliydonationamount). In the second phase (IsIntervention="yes"), one clerk (clerk=2) is instructed to give compliments to the customers (compliment="yes"). The other clerk (clerk=1) continues to give no compliments (compliment="no") Again we record for five days and each clerk, whether a customer donates or not and for the whole day the donated amount.
