Systematic yeast two-hybrid library screens were performed with SipC from a duck granulosa cells (dGCs) as bait. Twelve co-regulatory proteins were identified. The p53-effector related to PMP-22 (PERP) was the most frequent and fastest positive clone identified and the key factor PERP interacts with SipC to promote SE invasion of dGC ovaries, providing critical insights about the complexity of host-bacteria protein interactions during <i>Salmonella</i> invasion.<br>
