Comparative analysis of the intrauterine transcriptome in fertile and subfertile mares using cytobrush sampling

Mares were selected for fertility based on breeding results. Uterine cytobrush samples were collected during estrus, i.e., 1-3 days before ovulation. RNA was isolated from cytobrush samples and used for Illumina RNA-sequencing. Differentially expressed genes were identified between samples from fertile and subfertile mares. These genes are suggested as potential uterine fertility markers for the mare.
