A pair of Oak tree and Buckthorn tree will be recognized in the woodlot. The distance between those two pairs will be measured. Sapling density of Oak tree will be measured around the parent Oak tree in that area having 10 m radius. And also light coverage will also be measured at four different points at that area covered and average will be obtained. 5 – 10 pairs of tree will be measured according to this method and will be tested for the hypothesis and prediction to prove the either one. Sapling Density around the adult pair of the same species and different species This experiment is planned in order to measure the sapling density around a pair of adult trees from the same species and different species and the available light density for that particular area covered. Hypothesis Null Hypothesis (Ho) The distance of adult pairs and light availability won’t affect sapling density at that particular area covered. Alternate Hypothesis (Ha) – The distance of adult pairs and light availability will affect sapling density at that particular area covered. Prediction Considering a pair of same species adult as the sapling and an adult of a different species, it is predicted that as the distance increasing between the adults, sapling density will be high in a given area covered those two adult pairs. Considering an area covered, it is predicted as the density of light is increasing, the sapling density will also be increasing proportionally. And therefore, it can be predicted altogether as that of increasing distance between different adult species and as of increasing light density will increase the sapling density of a particular sapling around its parent tree.
