资源简介:
This study explains Indonesia's floating solar energy project and its problems.
The data shown is only literature from various sources related to floating solar energy in Indonesia.
There is also data on the condition of floating solar energy, which investors from the UAE have located in the Cirata dam in West Java, Indonesia, on an area of around 200 hectares. This floating solar energy is the largest in ASEAN.
Research findings:
Floating solar energy presents a viable solution for
Indonesia, which faces challenges related to land acquisition.
Instead of requiring expensive land, the country seeks
investment from companies interested in developing solar
energy projects. To address this, Indonesia and potential
investors can collaborate to implement floating solar energy
(PLTS) across various regions. Several projects are underway, and Indonesia is in discussions with global partners. The country is confident that it will achieve 25% renewable energy by 2026 and meet its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) for Renewable Energy by 2030. This research underscores the importance of International Relations (IR) studies, particularly those focused on multinational companies (MNCs) collaborating in the renewable energy sector. However, the research team, primarily from an IR background, lacks technical expertise in floating solar energy implementation, a crucial factor in the success of such projects. Addressing this gap can significantly enhance the policies issued by the Indonesian government, fostering global cooperation to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) targets and economic benefits.
This research suggests that IR studies should extend beyond examining a country's renewable energy policies to include the practical application of floating solar energy. Exploring its positive impacts, environmental effects, and benefits for aquatic ecosystems is essential.
