Congressional District Health Dashboard (CDHD)

The Congressional District Health Dashboard (CDHD), released in January 2023, was developed by the Department of Population Health at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, in partnership with Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. As the first-of-its-kind resource, CDHD currently provides reliable data from 2019 - 2023 that represent 40 measures of health and factors affecting health for all congressional districts across the U.S. The measures, or metrics, represent five key areas: Health Behaviors, Social and Economic Factors, Physical Environment, Health Outcomes, and Clinical Care. Data for metrics such as air pollution, life expectancy, physical inactivity, diabetes rates, uninsured, and children in poverty, are available for use by policymakers, advocates, community members, and members of Congress for assessing strengths and challenges in their regions and help drive positive change at the district, state, and national level. Snapshots of results from searches of data from all 40 metrics based on a selected state or Congressional District are displayed along with corresponding national averages. The results can be saved as pdf or png files of the map and/or bar plots. Links to demographics and information about Senators and other representatives of the selected district are also included on the results page. Options to view data for individual metrics on district maps or as bar graphs based on demographics are also available. In addition, data for individual metrics, e.g., unemployment, can be displayed for multiple districts as compared to the national average.
