Skateboarding Trick Attempt Database

This database contains 24,053 trick attempt observations from publicly available video footage published by the official ‘The Berrics’ YouTube channel of 13 numbered 'Battle at the Berrics' (BATB) game tournaments spanning 2008 to 2023. Other BATB tournaments outside of this series, such as BATB Q and BATB W, were not included in the data collection. Additional games of S.K.A.T.E conducted outside of the published elimination brackets for each included tournament (e.g., ‘unsanctioned battles’, ‘rematches’, etc.) were also not included.For each trick attempted, the following fields were recorded: BATB tournament (‘BATB’: integer values 1 to 13), skateboarder making the attempt (‘Skateboarder’: Unique identifier per skateboarder/game), attempted trick name (‘Trick’: e.g., Kickflip), attempt type (‘Type’: Offence or Defence), attempt outcome (‘Outcome’: Land or Bail), outcome variation (‘Variant’: None, Rebate, or Rebate (last trick)), and the year that the video was posted ('Year_Posted': 2014 - 2023).
