In the sewage denitrification and dephosphorization process, precise carbon source dosage is the core regulatory measure to ensure efficient total nitrogen (TN) removal. As a key electron donor for denitrifying bacteria, carbon sources directly drive the reduction of nitrate to nitrogen gas (NO₃⁻→N₂), addressing the denitrification bottleneck of sewage with low carbon-to-nitrogen (C/N) ratio; meanwhile, they provide anaerobic phosphorus release energy for polyphosphate-accumulating organisms (PAOs), enhancing the efficiency of biological phosphorus removal. Its dosage must strictly match the influent TN load: insufficient dosage will hinder denitrification, leading to excessive effluent total nitrogen and frequent floating sludge in the secondary sedimentation tank; excessive dosage will unnecessarily increase the effluent COD risk and sludge production, disrupting the system balance. Therefore, the carbon source dosage per thousand tons of water is a decisive process parameter that balances denitrification efficiency, phosphorus removal stability and operational economy. This dataset can provide data support and comparison for carbon source dosage in production of water treatment plants and related industries, and offer data basis for determining carbon source dosage per thousand tons of water. The carbon source dosage dataset of Shuige Sewage Treatment Plant in Lishui City includes the following steps: 1. Data collection: Collect daily data including water volume, influent COD, influent total nitrogen, effluent COD, effluent total nitrogen, carbon source dosage at the influent dosing points of 1# Biological Tank and 2# Biological Tank, and carbon source dosage at the tertiary zone dosing points of 1# Biological Tank and 2# Biological Tank, for a continuous one-year period. 2. Data processing: Screen the collected data to retain dates where effluent COD < 30 mg/L and effluent total nitrogen < 10 mg/L that meet the usage requirements. Calculate the carbon source dosage per thousand tons of water for the retained dates using the formula: Carbon source dosage per thousand tons of water = (carbon source dosage at influent dosing point of 1# Biological Tank + carbon source dosage at influent dosing point of 2# Biological Tank + carbon source dosage at tertiary zone dosing point of 1# Biological Tank + carbon source dosage at tertiary zone dosing point of 2# Biological Tank) / water volume × 1000. 3. Data statistics: Based on the carbon source dosage usage of each consecutive one-month period, calculate the average water volume and average carbon source dosage interval per thousand tons of water for each month across the full year. 4. Data application: According to the average water volume intervals for different months throughout the year, combined with the impact of special weather in the current year on water consumption, provide reasonable suggestions on carbon source dosage per thousand tons of water for water treatment plants and related industries.
