VPRS 8917 File Registration and Movement Cards, Annual Single Number (Personnel Department)

This series consists of combined file registration and movement cards which were part of the annual single number filing system used by the Personnel Registry of the State Electricity Commission of Victoria (VA 1002) from 1978 to 1992. This series was created to register the allocation of file numbers and to record and thus track the movement between action officers and the registry of files located in VPRS 8916.The cards are pale blue in colour and sized 5x8. Each card has ruled lines on both sides and is divided horizontally to allow information relating to four files to be recorded on each card. Each side of each card is divided into three columns.On the facing side the columns were used to record:file number;file title; andthe date the file was openedWhere appropriate the cards were annotated with words such as "Destroyed", "Transferred" etc.The reverse side of the cards recorded file movements.
