EDO Minimum Daily Temperature MARSMet (version 2.1.0)

--- Version 2.1.0 (current): Daily minimum near-surface temperature in degrees Celsius from MARSMet. Spatial resolution: 10 km. Used to compute warm and cold spell duration and intensity datasets.

--- Version 1.0.0 (dismissed): Daily interpolated minimum temperature using around 4000 weather stations across Europe and its surrounding areas. The data are interpolated using an inverse distance algorithm searching stations within 200 km distance. Up to a maximum of 20 stations are considered. A correction for elevation takes place using a factor of 0.65 degrees Celsius per 100 meter. The interpolation is done on a 0.25 decimal degree grid. The temperature results are being used to compute heat- and cold waves and moments of potentially dangerous temperatures for human beings.
