Whole Genome Sequencing of E. coli from Cracked Chicken Eggs in General Santos City

This project investigates the genomic characterization of selected E. coli isolates from cracked chicken eggs that exhibited multi-drug resistance and antimicrobial susceptibility to selected antibiotics. Initial isolate identity was determined based on selective culture media, and confirmed using VITEK ID and AST cards to assess phenotypic antimicrobial susceptibility profiles. Pure isolates were cultured followed by genomic DNA extraction at the Philippine Genome Center Mindanao. Whole genome sequencing was performed using the ONT platform in plasmidsaurus (USA). Bioinformatics analysis was performed according to the suggested pipeline of plasmidsaurus (USA).
