Evaluation Summary - Encouraging Attendance at Rochester's Financial Empowerment Center (2021)

The City of Rochester launched our Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) in February 2020. Following the launch, the City worked with The Behavioral Insights Team (BIT) to better understand what messages would be most effective at encouraging residents to sign up for and attend financial counseling appointments. The City and BIT partnered with the Monroe County Department of Human Services to design and test two flyers advertising the FEC to residents currently receiving or transitioning from social service benefits. This project group worked together to run a Randomized Controlled Trial, sending one of two flyers to 3,900 residents between October 2020 - February 2021.
