This dataset compiles key HIV/AIDS epidemiological indicators for 18 Latin American countries at five-year intervals from 2000 to 2020. Countries covered: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Indicators included: (1) PLHIV – People Living with HIV (total count); (2) New Infections per year (estimated count); (3) Incidence Rate per 1,000 uninfected population aged 15-49; (4) ART Coverage – Antiretroviral therapy coverage among people living with HIV (%); (5) AIDS-related Deaths per 1,000 population. Data sourced from the World Bank Development Indicators, based on UNAIDS estimates. Years covered: 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020. This dataset enables longitudinal and cross-country analysis of the HIV/AIDS epidemic trajectory in Latin America, including treatment scale-up and mortality trends.
