Chromatin architecture in pediatric lupus

This project found changes in the DNA of children with lupus, more specifically, in portions of the DNA that are open and can be more easily-accessed for gene expression. In particular, stretches of DNA that appear to be important in readying genes important in the pro-inflammatory response for expression are more open in children with lupus than children without lupus. This may lead to new insights into the pathogenesis of lupus and targets for therapy.
