资源简介:
Dacryodes edulis is one of the most important indigenous crop species in Central Africa. Its fruit, the African pear or bush butter plum, is a staple food widely consumed in the region. It generates a great economic activity, estimated to be higher than 1000 million F CFA in 2000, in Cameroon only. In this country, it is also the most commonly associated fruit tree in complex multistoried cocoa agroforestry systems. Its value as a market species favors its cultivation, which is likely to lead to more selective pressure on the species. This underlines the importance of sustainable management strategies, informed by genetic data.
