Characterisation data of perylene diimide nanobelts

Characterisation data on two perylene diimide (PDI) derivatives with different terminal functional groups, denoted cyclohexyl (CH) and 4-heptyl (swallow tail or 'ST'). The dataset includes scanning electron diffraction (SED) data on ST-PDI nanobelts as well as electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) on CH-PDI and ST-PDI nanobelts and femtosecond transient absorption microscopy (fs-TAM) on ST-PDI nanobelts. The dataset underpins an article by the same authors "Structural properties, polymorphism, and multiscale disorder unravel energy transport limitations in perylene diimide semiconductors" in Science Advances (2026). The EELS and fs-TAM results are provided as ZIP folders containing underlying data grouped by figure number. The larger SED datasets are given as original data converted to HDF5 file formats and accompanying calibration data (gold cross-grating and MoO3 SED datasets). The calibration procedures are given in the associated manuscript. These files can be opened using HyperSpy (https://hyperspy.org/index.html), and open-source Python package for multi-dimensional data with specialised tools for microscopy.
