Cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) co-contamination in agricultural soils severely threatens soil ecological integrity and food security. This project focuses on the novel synergistic remediation system integrating Astragalus residue-derived biochar (ARBC, valorized from traditional Chinese medicine waste), plant growth-promoting rhizobacterium Enterobacter mori XJ10, and king grass (Pennisetum purpureum x Pennisetum glaucum). We present shotgun metagenomic sequencing data of soil microbial communities across five treatments (3 biological replicates each): uncontaminated control (CK-1), Cd-Pb contaminated control (CK-2), contaminated soil + E. mori XJ10 (T1), contaminated soil + ARBC (T2), and contaminated soil + ARBC-loaded E. mori XJ10 (T3). The data aim to characterize shifts in microbial taxonomic composition and functional potential (e.g., C/N/S biogeochemical cycling, heavy metal detoxification), identify key microbial taxa and functional genes mediating enhanced Cd-Pb remediation, and provide a public genomic resource for deciphering biochar-microbe-plant synergistic mechanisms in heavy metal-contaminated soil restoration.
