Free public Wi-Fi in Brisbane is changing.
Due to Telstra decommissioning its Brisbane Free Public Wi-Fi service, Council’s free public Wi-Fi service to parks, public spaces and ferry terminals across the city, will be phased out progressively from 31 May to 6 September 2024.
Telstra will continue to provide community 'free Telstra Wi-Fi' hotspots through their payphone infrastructure.
Free CouncilGuest Wi-Fi services will continue to be available at Brisbane Libraries.

Brisbane City Council offers free wireless internet (Wi-Fi) access in parks and public spaces across the Brisbane Central Business District (CBD) and into the popular James Street precinct in Newstead, Caxton Street/Given Terrace in Paddington, Sandgate town centre, Wynnum town centre, Sunnybank Hills, St Lucia village, the Stones Corner Precinct, Spring Hill, Nundah, Moorooka and more, allowing residents and visitors to stay connected as they move around Brisbane.
