Understanding and predicting how organisms respond to environmental changes, with a particular emphasis on those mediated by human activities, has become a major concern in conservation biology. Because anthropogenic disturbance may have an additive effect, it is important to consider the impact of multiple interacting factors on organisms to uncover complex relationships linking phenotype and environment. Here, we investigated the impacts of natural and anthropogenic factors on phenotype and the underlying transcriptomic basis in the damselfly Ischnura elegans.
