Conjugation with Tris decreases the risk of ketoprofen-induced mucosal damage - databases

The non-steroid anti-inflammatory drug ketoprofen (Ket) has haemorrhagic side-effects in the upper GI tract. Our aims were thus to develop a new compound from Ket and Tris precursors and compare mucosal effects of Ket and Ket-Tris in a rat model of colitis and in healthy animals. Further, we tested the hypothesis that GI methane generation is associated with the inflammatory activation under these conditions.
