资源简介:
This collection comprises images from a Level 3 Analytical Historic Building Recording at the Grade II listed former Worcester Cross Factory and former Magistrates Court, 41 Worcester Street, Kidderminster. Work was carried out by Worcestershire Archaeology from October 2022 to June 2023 in advance of proposed redevelopment. A planning application has been submitted to Wyre Forest District Council (21/0783/REG3 & 21/0784/LBC). The principal building on the site was designed in Queen Anne Revival style by the influential architect J G Bland of Birmingham and built between 1878-1879 for the carpet manufacturer Henry Richard Willis. It formed a company headquarters with a showroom space to display carpets. In 1971 it was sold by British Carpets Ltd to Kidderminster Borough Council, with part of the building converted into Kidderminster Magistrates Court.
