This is the whole genome sequence of Escherichia coli strain NR898 isolated from a patient who caused food poisoning after traveling abroad. This strain was a multi-drug resistant E. coli. It carried the pNR898 plasmid encoding resistance genes; CTX-M-55, FosA3, and RmtB. In addition, three point mutations in the quinolone resistance were confirmed region of GyrA and ParC. By tracking plasmid or chromosomal homology, we can predict what happened: gene transfer, gene construction, and so on. In addition, if it is clarified where the isolated strain has high homology, it will be helpful to take measures infection control in the future.
